say hello to Marie
I was talking to my bestie Cassie the other day about decision fatigue. I’m going through some significant changes at work (is anyone really surprised?) and she and I started talking about the exhausting impact of making so many decisions.
I started thinking about the last time I went through a workplace reorganization and the coping skills I used at that time. I started scrolling through my Instagram feed and low and behold - there was Meredith.
Meredith is my first dress from Wool&. I wore her for 100 consecutive days. Wool& runs a challenge where you get $100 off a future purchase if you wear their dress for 100 consecutive days. (I completed the challenge but I was given a discount on the dress due to a production error. I didn’t feel right taking the reward when I didn’t pay full price.)
During those 100 days, Meredith (Grey) was my constant companion. I physically went to work during the height of the pandemic. I broke my decade-old sunglasses. I taught lots of yoga online. I went to Reiki School. I was laid off. I built a new career. All accompanied by my sweet accomplice, Meredith (Grey).
So here I am. A year and change later. Figuring out how to navigate a an ever-changing career and pandemic landscape. And I made a comfort purchase.
Say hello to Marie.
This is Marie Barone. She is short, round, and hard to get rid of. She is a XXL Long Willow. She already accompanied me to a work meeting, a craft shop, and a Tarot School class. During our 100 days together, she will be my buddy as we have our first return to (vaccine and mask required) live music. She will also be my entire wardrobe on my first weekend away in over two years. I am excited for this round of the challenge. As I start to dip my toes back out into the world, I won’t have to think about what I’m wearing. Other than my scarf.
I’m also excited about this time with Marie because it will allow me to move into my next steps of reclaiming Instagram for myself and my soul. As I post every single day with Marie, I can return to the light-hearted, day-in-the-life photos that I so love sharing.
Long live Marie!
