Join us for a study of the gentle discipline of Tapas.

I don’t know about you, but I am feeling really stagnant.

This year has been exhausting. Although there is some light on the horizon, I’m getting tired of waiting for something external to make me feel better. I’m ready to take a little more control of my emotional and physical well-being.

I have brought so much back into my practice over the past two months. Meditation, journaling, crystals, oils. But I am still coming up empty. I finally realized what I was missing: a practice of physical discipline.

Physical discipline goes hand-in-hand with shaking up my life.

The times where I changed my life were the times where I felt physically powerful and was pursuing a goal that included moving my body. I started my coaching business as I was training for a marathon. I completed 1000+ days of Daily Yoga Practice while I was learning how to teach yoga. Discipline and commitment build discipline and commitment.

Tapas isn’t just a delicious type of food, my friends.

Tapas is a piece of yoga philosophy that teaches about discipline for the sake of the lessons that come from discipline. Tapas is where we come face-to-face with what we tend to hide by showing up consistently. How we do one thing is how we do everything. So if we show up for a consistent physical practice, we teach ourselves to show up consistently in our relationships, our work, our homes. A commitment to a physical practice teaches us how to be resistant or tired or angry and SHOW UP ANYWAY.

Welcome to Solstice 108.

Showing up for yourself and maintaining a consistent physical discipline will empower you in all areas of your life.
Structured and gradual physical challenge reminds you that you have all you need to stand up and stand out in your life.
A physical practice will remind you of your presence, your voice, and your POWER.
Regular physical practice has been shown to help you manage your emotions, improve your thinking, and sleep better at night.
You will show yourself that you can do things that you didn’t think possible. And then you can apply that belief in yourself to all pieces of your life.

But let’s be clear…

This is not a weight loss program. I will not mention anything about weight, calories, or speed. And I will actively discourage you from thinking in this way as well.

You will learn to approach this process as a work-in, not a work-out. You will come to your mat to learn who you are, not to change who you are. The intention is to build your relationship with yourself - spiritually, emotionally, and physically. And to offer gentle and consistent challenge.

You do not have to be classically “good” at yoga or even know anything about yoga. I cannot do a handstand nor do my hands touch the ground in a forward fold. When I was running, I came in the last 10% (if not absolute last) in most of the races I ran.

Being the best has nothing to do with the benefits of a physical ritual.

Why am I the yoga teacher for you?

I am a Certified Curvy Yoga Teacher and have over seven years of extensive study on teaching yoga both with and without modifications and props.

I am a student and practitioner of mental health, meditation, breathwork, Reiki, and Jin Shin Juytsu. I value the emotional piece of any physical endeavor.

I am a RRCA certified running coach that has created dozens of training plans to challenge and train your body from absolute zero.

I once completed over a thousand days of consecutive yoga practice.

Join us for Solstice 108.

How will we do it?

We will begin on the Winter Solstice with one sun salutation. That’s all. It will take 2-3 minutes.

And we will end on the Spring Equinox with one hundred and eight sun salutations. That will take a while, but you’ll be ready.

I will guide you every step of the way.

You will receive:

  • A “training plan” beginning Monday, December 21 and ending Saturday, March 20. It will detail a daily practice of yoga movements and/or meditation.

  • Video instruction on completing a Sun Salutation on your mat, with props, and at the wall.

  • Audio recordings of 1, 5, and 10 Sun Salutations so I can be right there with you.

All of this for a one-time investment of $108.

On Monday, December 21, you will stand on your mat and I will guide you through one – just one – Sun Salutation. And you will be on your way.

But you won’t be alone.

I’m also including a PRIVATE INSTAGRAM GROUP CHAT where we will encourage and motivate each other. I will be in this group daily to answer any questions that may arise as you follow your plan.

We will have a LIVE KICK OFF CALL via Zoom on Monday, December 21 at 7pm Eastern. We will introduce ourselves, flow through our first Sun Salutation live, and practice a meditation. A recording of this call will be available.

We would love to have you along.
